When we decide, perhaps after much hesitation, that we need to talk to someone about our personal problems, what matters most is that we feel comfortable with them. We need to feel that we can tell them anything, even the truly difficult things about ourselves or others. And know that what we say will be confidential.


That's why - more than any of my qualifications or skills gained through years of training - I trust my ability to reach out to you in your distress and begin to make a therapeutic relationship with you at our first meeting which will support, help and encourage you to find your way through your present troubles or uncertainties to a calmer, more hopeful place.


I offer counselling, psychotherapy and supervision from my pleasant practice rooms in Exeter and Tunbridge Wells. Exeter is within easy reach of Tavistock, Sidmouth, Honiton, Crediton, Newton Abbot, Totnes, Exmouth, Torquay, and other South-West coastal and East Devon towns. Tunbridge Wells is accessible from Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Tenterden, Cranbrook, Hawkhurst, Heathfield, Battle, Hastings, Bexhill, Uckfield and many other towns and villages in Kent and East Sussex.


You may choose to see me alone or with a partner or family member. I accept self-referrals, and those from health professionals such as Consultants, GPs and EAPs.


With an experienced co-therapist - Bob Dray, FBACP - I also offer family, group and con-joint relationship therapy (in addition to the couples counselling I give alone).


I am also a Qualified Practitioner in EMDR , a specialised and often fast-working treatment for the relief of traumatic symptoms such as those experienced after being involved in road traffic accidents, physical/sexual assaults, abuse, or witnessing horrific events. This treatment is also used in performance enhancement and to improve self-esteem.
