Counselling and Psychotherapy in BATH

SUE COOK, MBACP

Fellow: ISPC
BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist
BACP Accredited Supervisor: Individuals/Groups
EMDR Qualified Practitioner

WHEN we decide, perhaps after much hesitation, that we need to talk to someone about our personal problems, what matters most is that we feel comfortable with them.

We need to feel that we can tell them anything, even the truly difficult things about ourselves or others. And know that what we say will be confidential.

That’s why – more than any of my qualifications or skills gained through years of training – I trust my ability to reach out to you in your distress and begin to make a therapeutic relationship with you at our first meeting.

I believe that this relationship will support, help and encourage you to find your way through your present troubles or uncertainties to a calmer, more hopeful place.

I offer brief and longer-term counselling/psychotherapy and supervision from my pleasant practice room in Bath, which is within easy reach of Bristol and other North East Somerset towns.

You may choose to see me alone or with a partner or family member for counselling or psychotherapy in Bath. I accept self-referrals, and those from health professionals such as Consultants, GPs and EAPs.

I am also a Qualified Practitioner in EMDR , a specialised and often fast-working treatment for the relief of traumatic symptoms such as those experienced after being involved in road traffic accidents, physical/sexual assaults, abuse, or witnessing horrific events. This treatment is available either alone or alongside counselling and psychotherapy in Bath.  I have a long-standing interest in trauma and abuse and over 25 years experience in this specialised field.

Why not click on other parts of my website to learn more about my counselling and psychotherapy service in Bath and N.E. Somerset and how I can help you? I am always happy to discuss any anxieties or concerns you may have before making that important first appointment.

How It Works

Please complete the contacts form on this website. I will reply quickly, usually by return.

This is an Assessment session – for you to find out if you feel comfortable working with me and for me to learn more of your concerns. During this session I will usually take a short history.

Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly. After medium to long-term work together some clients prefer to continue on a monthly
maintenance basis.

Sessions are confidential, supportive, and guided by your pace and needs.
